Head of design and exploration complex department, RusHydro
Igor I. Zhezhel is PJSC RusHydro’s head of design and exploration complex department. In 1988, he graduated from the faculty of mechanical engineering of the higher technical institution at the Krasnoyarsk Polytechnic Institute, and qualified as a mechanical engineer. He started his career in 1983 at the Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant.
Igor has substantial experience in senior positions in a number of organisations including hydropower industry enterprises OJSC Taimyrenergo, CJSC Boguchanskaya HPP, and PJSC Federal Hydrogeneration Company RusHydro.
Igor joined PJSC RusHydro in August 2012. His direct responsibilities include the management of design and exploration activities of the company’s project institutes. He also supervises and controls the supply of design specifications and estimates on each stage of the company’s new construction projects' design, integrated modification, technical re-equipment and reconstruction.
With Igor’s direct participation, the construction and commissioning of the Kureiskaya, Boguchanskaya, Bureiskaya and Gotsatlinskaya hydropower projects were successfully completed. The construction and preparation for commissioning of a number of projects located in the North Caucasus region, including Zelenchukskaya pumped storage project and Zaragizhskaya small hydropower plant, are currently in their final stages.
Igor was co-opted to the IHA Board in January 2016.
